Uncontrollable? Too Soon to Tell

This work was developed during a series of rotating residencies at Kunstpodium T as part of the Apprentice Master Program 2020/2021 and resulted in a group exhibition, with Anna de Vriend, Maxime Coster, and Yanxian Zhao under the guidance of TINKEBELL.

For six days, I documented my daily presence in the space without being physically present: one outfit worn each day, the receipts from that day's purchases, daily tarot readings marked on post-it notes, and polaroids capturing the changing space.

Leading up to the residency, tensions in my communication with TINKEBELL kept recurring. A month before the exhibition, I emailed her my concerns. She replied, I replied, and we had a meeting. Rather than resolving the situation, it intensified the conflict. I exhibited the three emails alongside the rest of the work. A conflict I could not resolve in my personal life became material within the installation.
