Distantie (performance) is a continuous exploration of personal distance between myself and a visitor.

One by one, visitors join me to explore our mutual comfort in personal space. Facing each other, we adjust our physical distance, moving towards and away from one another until we both intuitively sense and arrive at a distance that feels right.

With each new performance, the lead shifts organically. Usually I guide the process, although sometimes, participants also take the lead instead. Conversations are permitted during the performance, and they occasionally emerge naturally.
